Bologna and the Social Dimension – Lost in Translation?

This summary paper has been adapted for publication from a keynote speech given by the author at the Bologna Process Anniversary Conference on the 24th – 25th June 2019. The paper offers an overview of the Bologna process and also explores the social dimension highlighting and commenting on the progress made in this area of Bologna as well as the challenges that lay ahead in realizing the promise of the social dimension and the wider social benefits of the European Higher Education Area.
