Manja Klemenčič researches, teaches, advises and consults in the area of international and comparative higher education, especially focusing on student agency as student capabilities to shape and contribute to their education environments and learning pathways. She is currently completing a monograph on student campus employees and students in service to their universities. Dr. Klemenčič is Lecturer in Sociology and in General Education at the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Harvard University where she teaches courses on higher education. At Harvard, she won several awards for teaching excellence and was recently voted one of the most favorite professors of Class 2019. She serves as Editor-in-Chief of European Journal of Higher Education, Co-Editor of the Bloomsbury book series Understanding Student Experiences of Higher Education, and Thematic Co-Editor of the Springer Encyclopedia of International Higher Education Systems and Institutions. With Sabine Hoidn, Klemenčič is currently co-editing the Routledge Handbook on Student-Centered Learning and Instruction in Higher Education forthcoming in 2020. In June 1999, as Secretary General of ESIB-The National Unions of Students in Europe (now the ESU), Manja was part of the student delegation invited to the Ministerial Conference launching the Bologna Process.
