Janek Heß is currently a member of the International Committee and the Social Policy Committee of the fzs – freier zusammenschluss von student*innenschaften e.V., which is part of the European Students Union. In addition, it represents the Conference of Thuringian Students (regional student representation) in the Fachforum Hochschule of the National Platform for Education for Sustainable Development. Within the framework of the expert forum, it works very intensively with other actors in the working groups Science Policy, Accreditation System/Quality Assurance and Students.
Janek is studying urban and spatial planning at the University of Applied Sciences Erfurt and has been involved in various committees of student and academic self-administration in recent years.
He was a member of the board of the freier zusammenschluss von student*innenschaften (fzs) e.V. in the mandate 2016/2017 and represented the national student representation in the NBFUG. As a former speaker of the Thuringian Students’ Conference (regional student
representation) and at local level, he has already worked on many topics related to higher education, science and research policy. His areas of work include student social policy, quality assurance and education for sustainable development at universities as well as university and student financing
